About Rocky
Rocky Simachila is a Zambian citizen living in Australia since 2011. After spending almost 7 years in Canberra, Rocky decided to move to the Northern Territory of Australia, which has now become his home.
His love for cameras grew around the late 90s when he worked on safari as a waiter and a spotlight operator during night game-drives.

His original idea behind composing photographs was to try and write a book about his encounters with wildlife on game-drives. He bought himself a point-and-shoot Vivitar Camera and away he went.
He feels absolutely lucky to have accompanied great photographers on safari, and from these experiences he picked up great basic principles of photography.
Having moved away from safari guiding, he decided to broaden his photographic focus area. Whilst living in Port Vila, the Capital City of Vanuatu, he had many opportunities to photograph concerts with the Vanuatu Radio Station. Some opportunities were concerts of great Reggae Stars such as Ky-Mani Marley (the son of the Legendary Bob Marley), and Alpha Blondy- the Reggae Star from Côte d’Ivoire.
Rocky has a unique eye for detail and should you need some serious photographic skills, don’t hesitate to contact him.
